TECHNICAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE HEAT EXCHANGER

Car radiators, split air conditioner coils, air heaters, domestic water heaters in combi boilers, oil cooler exchangers are the most common examples encountered in daily life. A heat exchanger is a device that allows two or more fluids at different temperatures to transfer their heat from one to the other without mixing (contacting). In general, the fluids are separated from each other by a heat transfer surface and they are prevented from mixing with each other.

Classification of Heat Exchangers

Industrial types of heat exchangers are classified according to the following factors.

  • Heat Transfer Process
  • Transition Variety
  • Construction
  • Fluid Phases
  • Heat Transfer Assembly
  • Surface Density
  • Flow Diversity

Classification by Construction

  • Expanded surface heat exchangers Fin tube heat exchangers, Fin plate heat exchangers
  • Regenerators fixed matrix heat exchangers, rotary type heat exchangers.
  • Tube Heat Exchangers double tube heat exchangers, shell tube heat exchangers, screw tube heat exchangers.
  • Plate Heat Exchangers sealed plate heat exchangers, welded heat exchangers, spiral heat exchangers, lamella type heat exchangers.
